  2. Among the stories I found several categories but as I like laughing my vote for the funniest story is for 'When a dog bites a man'. Though this story is embarrassing too.

  3. Hi guys! These are Juan Carlos's votes. I am only lending me my e-mail account.

    Juan Carlos said:

    I have
    three votes:=)

The first is for "To love in excess" as the most emotional composition. The way in which the psychological environment and the dynamic of the narrative were used was great.

The second vote I give it to "Bachannalia in Huamantla" for its economy
in the story but great communicative effect. It could be classified as the most
unexpected as the drug situation was unexpected to me.

My third vote is for "When a dog bites a man" as the most tender story because by the age this happens to the writer can not fail to be so. I also think that there is a happy contrast between the age of the character and the title.

I thank my colleagues who have shared their experiences which were interesting.

Finally, I believe that this work improves our ability to write enough and also gives us the opportunity to spend a pleasant time to know the experiences of colleagues

    Greetings

    Juan Carlos

  6. Hi, my vote is for "To love in excess". The story is quite emotional, the idea is very clear.
In fact, I don't like sadness, although it is part of life, but the story develops the subject very well.

  9. Hello everyone,

It is quite hard to choose a single winner. All stories have a personal value and the best thing is we could learn a little bit more about each other by reading your stories. So, I´ll leave the task of choosing the winners to our Award Committee currently led by Enrique and whoever wants to join him:

    ROMANTIC STORIES:
My favorite is definitely Sandra’s story “To love in excess”. The story made me cry from the first paragraph, then I was caught by the way you describe the state of being in love and not being loved in the same way, all my romantic life passed in front of me. So, sadness, laughs, frustration, the mixture of feelings your writing provokes in the reader is your best merit. You are really gifted in writing.

    FUNNY STORIES:
Andres’s story was so funny too. Why is it that we always feel embarrassed when something bad happens to us? The way you tell the story made us feel the embarrassment you went thorough as a child and as adults we now laugh at reading about it. The embarrassment is worth the prize you will get in this contest 
As a teacher I can tell you Juan Carlos’s story was the best planned and well written. I made almost no corrections it was all his work from the very first draft and I think it should get a prize. The structure of the story showed from the beginning the dedication and planning of the writer. And the content? funny enough don’t you think? Hiding yourself in the toilet? I guess I would have done the same 
Rodrigo’s story “Unexpected” was very funny. I wanted to classify it in “Stories with a message” but the message did not fit the context clearly. On the other side, looking at the pity people had on you really made imagine the way you looked: as a tramp, homeless and starving. Rodrigo, because of the good level of English you have I am sure you could have turned this into a real best-seller. You’ve got talent so , exploit it.
“Mad and Embarrassing” by Norma would fall into this category. Probably a little bit more work on the narrative could have engage readers to the point of feeling exactly the same Norma felt. But anyway, we know it must have been a hilarious experience for you and your friend.

    CHILDREN-PARENTS RELATIONSHIPS
Octavio’s childhood anecdotes give us an idea of what strict parents are like. I loved the story about hiding the real reason why you were late. Gosh! Why didn’t you tell him the truth? I think that gives us a clear idea of how strict your father was. I just hope you do not cause that fear in your children 

    STORIES WITH A MESSAGE
Héctor’s story also deserves a prize. When I read it the first time I really enjoyed it and laughed at all the silly things people can do under the effects of alcohol. The story is funny but it also has a message, a moral as in a fable that is why I included it in this category and I think it deserves a prize.
Octavio’s story also enters in this category because of his story about the drunk fisher men. It was a dangerous adventure specially for a child. I’m glad you learned the lesson.
Gimena’s story “The smelling house” would fall in my opinion into this category. It was a very dangerous situation which could have had much worse consequences. You father was a real hero and he had all the right to be mad at your mother. Though, what happened to her might happen to any of us. Never say “I will not drink of what water”. Your mother learned the lesson and she paid the price for her mistake. Thanks God you can tell the story.
I wanted to create a new category for Esther’s story, something like “thought-provoking stories” but I preferred to leave it in this category which already exists. It is an interesting life learning story which happened to her in a special moment of her life. And the message could fit to any of us.

    I'll continue in another entry.

  10. Part 2:

    TOUCHING
Carlos Diaz’s story “Cultural Patrimony” clearly reflects your PUMA pride and I the importance of belonging to this university. I hope everyone in this university feels that way. It does deserve a prize, don’t you think?
Abril’s story is so touching. I know it describes a funny sequence of events so probably it should be classified in the funny category but the way Abril tells the story makes us value the importance of a family. It is a treasure to have such memories and of course such a family. She deserves a prize.

    DANGEROUS STORIES:
Dalila’s story. Oh my God!! What a story!! I can imagine two little girls walking on the roof of a house!!! And you even got a scar! Yours and Caleb’s story trying to pull from one house to the other made me aware of how much attention children demand. I am glad you are both here and safe.
Mousse’s story, we all know Moi is a man of few words even in writing! Though, he likes to add adventure and adrenaline to his life as we can see in his story. Like Hector and Octavio’s stories this one is also related to the crazy things we do under the effects of alcohol plus something else right, Moises? Watch out your friends more carefully! Can you imagine what would have happened if the police officer had decided to search your bags?

    TENDER STORIES:
Caleb’s story really mad me imagine that little boy jumping into the pool, and the other one falling from the chair in the classroom was so funny too. Well, he talked about three short stories, the other one I classified it as dangerous. But the real image that sticks in my mind after reading his stories is the one of the boy jumping into the pool. I actually imagined Caleb with 2 years old, that’s why I classify it in tender.

    WEIRD/CONFUSSING STORIES
Sorry Enrique and Carlos Pineda if my mentality is not as sophisticated as yours. I obviously distinguish your desire to play with words and narratives and I think that reflects the kind of books and authors you read and also your view of life. I think that is the greatest value of your stories, especially considering that you did it in a foreign language!! But I must confess I was lost on the way. I read a reading comprehension exercise about your stories. Could we talk about them in class? Kind of interview with the author?

    EXCITING STORY
Josué is the only one in this category. It was a real challenging and exciting achievement! Well done for you! We are happy you represented UNAM in swimming. And it is even more important sport activities are the ones that build up your life. People who have never practiced a sport might not understand what this achievement meant to you but I DO!!! Well done!

What about Patty and Jonathan??!!! No comments. We missed your stories.

  13. Well ,I think that my first place is for "To love in excess", this story is amazing, it is sentimental and very intersting, I really like it.
The second place I think is for hector story,"When I Was Drunk", because it's very funny and, I think many of us have been in a similar situaion at least once time.
And the third place , I think is for "when a dog bites a man", because is funny, and interesting for me because I never have been bitten by a dog, and now I know how it could be.

  17. I'm sorry, I know it's a little bit late, but you know what they say "Better late that never"

Well, I want to give my first vote to Andrés, he really had the funniest experience, his story made laugh a lot.

My second vote is for Enrique and my third vote is for Karlos, I know that their stories are very strange but I think that they were very original. They try to do something different and that is awesome.

Finally I want to say that this activity was very interesting, I really enjoyed it, and I have a lot of comments about all the stories, but I think it would be better to share them in the class...

  18. I sorry I think I’m the last, but I hadn’t internet so I couldn’t do it earlier.
In first place I chose Sandra’s story, because I’m not romantic or something like that but I really liked this one, and is one of the few I understand clearly.
In the second place I liked Octavio’s story because I can imagine this little boy swimming in the river trying to set free the net while his father was drunk and a man was drawing, that’s a little hilarious.
In the third place I would say Hector’s story, because even when is very common doing stupid thinks when are drunk, you can always remember to have some fun.
I would like everyone have a prize but… actually everybody had a prize, so that’s all.
